2 Apr 2016 – <\/em>All perpetrators of extreme political brutality\u00a0tend\u00a0to react to criticism from their own side in exactly the same way, just with different nouns. It\u2019s like a special edition of Mad Libs (an American fill-in-the-blank word game<\/a>) for violent radicals:<\/p>\n

[Person on My Side]<\/em><\/strong> criticizes\u00a0us\u00a0for [Atrocity by Our Side]<\/strong>!<\/em><\/p>\n

But where was [Person on My Side]<\/strong>\u2019s condemnation of [Atrocity by the Other Side]<\/strong>?!?<\/em><\/p>\n

For instance, here\u2019s Ayman al-Zawahiri, now head of al Qaeda, responding<\/a> in 2008 to criticism<\/a> by his one-time mentor\u00a0that al Qaeda\u2019s violence was a misinterpretation of the doctrine of jihad:<\/p>\n

This is what I have to say in response. \u2026<\/em><\/p>\n

Why did\u00a0[my\u00a0fellow Muslims] condemn what happened in America but we heard no one condemn what America did to the Sudanese factory?\u00a0\u2026 What about the almost daily starving of the Iraqi people and the attacks on them? What about the sieges and attacks on the Muslim state of Afghanistan?<\/em><\/p>\n

Exactly the same pattern is found\u00a0in an official statement<\/a> from ISIS after the recent massacres in Brussels, which attempts (in broken English) to justify the murders there to other Muslims:<\/p>\n

We have also seen some evil \u201cscholars\u201d \u2026 quoting the textual evidences out of context. Today, we shall tackle this topic. \u2026<\/em><\/p>\n

[They] cry and mourn on the death of the Kuffar [non-believers], while the death hundreds of muslim men, women, old and children dying daily in the airstrikes don\u2019t effect them in anyway.<\/em><\/p>\n

Obviously this is lots\u00a0of fun, because now Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu wants to play.<\/p>\n

Sen. Patrick Leahy and 10\u00a0House members wrote to Secretary of State John Kerry this week asking him to assess the credibility of reports that U.S. military aid to Israel and Egypt might violate U.S. law<\/a> prohibiting such aid to governments that commit any \u201cgross violation of human rights.\u201d Netanyahu responded in a brief, official\u00a0written statement:<\/a><\/p>\n

Where is the concern for the human rights of the many Israelis who\u2019ve been murdered and maimed by these savage terrorists?<\/em><\/p>\n

All that said, it\u2019s not quite fair to say that Netanyahu\u2019s propaganda is exactly<\/em> the same as that of ISIS and al\u00a0Qaeda. To Netanyahu\u2019s credit, his statement\u00a0is much more concise.<\/p>\n
