PEACE to the Fore!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><em>A Plea to Participants in The Vatican Meeting, April 12-13, 2016<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">To war Humankind seeks a wise global solution<br \/>\nthat is well beyond a conceptual evolution<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Such needed Life-improving goal to reach<br \/>\nTo one another, what could human beings teach?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Wars will only cease<br \/>\nwhen everywhere there will be sustainable peace<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Founded on social justice economic equality and spiritual diversity<br \/>\nwhich will help ensure every global citizen of the individual\/collective<br \/>\nright to dignity<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Just war is a sad historical fact<br \/>\nSustainable peace is a global-improving act<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Just war, Just war<br \/>\nIt will not be To war or not to war<br \/>\nInstead, sustainable peace and harmony<br \/>\nwill become our blessed globally shared destiny<br \/>\n__________________________________<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><em>Francisco Gomes de Matos, Ph.D. is an applied peace linguist from Recife, Brazil. He has degrees in Languages, Law, and Linguistics. He is Professor Emeritus at the Universidade Federal de Pernambuco where he is active in the Dom H\u00e9lder Camara Human Rights Commission. He is one of the pioneers in Linguistic Rights (author of 1984 <\/em>Plea for a Universal Declaration of Linguistic Rights)<em> and in the emerging area of Peace Linguistics.
