Or, The Mad Hatters Boston\u00a0Tea Party with Special Guests<\/em><\/p>\n

From Boston tea gladness, and McCarthy time madness
\nto Osama bin badness, and Bush era sadness,
\nwe try to make sense of the mess that we’re in.
\nSeeking reprieve, we try to retrieve
\nthe hat from the mirror, the rabbit within,
\nto see if indeed we’ve learned anything.<\/p>\n

And there, all the while, near Trade Center towers<\/em>
\nnear bombs in the desert like fire work showers,<\/em>
\nthe mother still\u00a0 comforts her child: “Hush little baby, don’t you cry, <\/em>
\nmama\u2019s gonna sing you a lullaby”. <\/em>
\n\u00a0<\/em>
\nFor my part, I just want to know where Alice hid the card.
\nYou know, the card with the clue, to what we could do
\nin this topsy bin turvy, bin saviour,
\nbin scurvy, bin world, me and you;
\nMust the cups all be empty and breaking and, gee!
\nMust their shards tear our flesh?
\nAll we want is some tea!
\nThat bothers me!
\nTell me, where will it all end,
\nin this Osama bin Ladened,
\nbin Bushed and bin hardened,
\nbin holding my breath,
\nbin domino theoried and\u00a0 brainwashed to death
\nworld that we\u2019re in.
\nOh! Where will it end, when there’s clearly enough —
\nin fact one could\u00a0 say, an excess of stuff \u2013
\nfor all of\u00a0 our needs
\nin this topsy bin turvy, bin saviour bin scurvy,
\nbin world that we\u2019re in;
\nWill it end in the breaking of bread
\nregardless of creed?
\nAnd maybe, just maybe… according to need?<\/p>\n

She has performed in Canada and abroad and <\/em>has authored\u00a0<\/em>Flying Snakes and Green Turtles, Tanzania Up Close\u00a0and\u00a0<\/em>Letters from Helga.
