\nWhen tents become houses become tear gas test-sites
\nWhen days become years become decades and

What do we call this period of time? This suffocating, asphyxiating fifty

\nBombs tear gas violence repression checkpoints surveillance
\nmicroaggressions machine guns
\nracial profiling settlements innocent deaths cultural appropriation
\nbulldozing brutality<\/p>\n
We name it apartheid,
\nWe name it injustice,
\nWe name it occupation.<\/p>\n
Fifty years of making an occupation out of violence,
\nFifty years of preoccupation with \u201csecurity,\u201d
\nFifty years of military occupation of Palestine.<\/p>\n
When will it end? When will life begin anew? When will children walk safely
\nto school?<\/p>\n
This holy land,
\nthis wholly divided, wholly splintered, wholly oppressed land
\nneeds our voices, our hands, our righteous anger, our protests, our
\nboycotts, our endless
\nobjection-rejection-opposition-confrontation
\nof a fifty-year oppressive occupation
\nof a so-called holy land.<\/p>\n
