Dutch follow British lead. The Netherlands’ foreign minister said in a speech to parliament Wednesday [6 Mar 2013] that the settlements are illegal and an obstacle to peace. The labeling of products by retail chains in Holland will allow consumers to know whether they want to purchase these products. Other European countries expected to follow suit in coming weeks.

International Criminal Court in The Hague says reason for decision is that Palestine is currently recognized by the United Nations as an ‘observer,’ not a ‘Non-member State’. The International Criminal Court prosecutor announced Tuesday [3 Apr 2012] that he has rejected a bid by the Palestinian Authority to have the war crimes tribunal investigate Israeli conduct during ‘Operation Cast Lead’ in Gaza. The reason for his decision was that under the ICC’s founding treaty, the Rome Statute, only internationally recognized states can join the court.

Israel’s Army Radio reported on Wednesday [14 Jul 2010] that the United States has sent Israel a secret document committing to nuclear cooperation between the two countries. According to Army Radio, the U.S. has reportedly pledged to sell Israel materials used to produce electricity, as well as nuclear technology and other supplies, despite the fact that Israel is not a signatory of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty.
