What personal data we collect and why we collect it
If you subscribe to our weekly newsletter TRANSCEND Media Service Weekly Digest, we store your email address, the date and time you subscribed and possible error and bounce messages. Our newsletter is managed on our own server, using the Sympa mailing list software. No third party is involved in sending our newsletter and we do not use any tracking links in our emails.
You can unsubscribe here at any time.
When you leave a comment on our site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and your IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
When you use our contact form we collect the submitted information to react accordingly.
Our comment forms contains a captcha which works by saving a session cookie in your browser. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
If you leave a comment on our site your name, email address and website are saved locally in your browser. This is for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. We also save your comment in your browser before it has been submitted successfully. This data is discarded when you close your browser.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
We use the Statify plugin. It does not collect any personal data. In particular, we do not use any tracking cookies and we do not store your IP address.
Who we share your data with
We do not share any of your personal data with third parties.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
What rights you have over your data
If you have left comments on our website, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Where we send your data
We check comments through the automated spam detection service Akismet and they receive the following data: the commenter’s IP address, user agent, referrer, site URL, along with other information directly provided by the commenter such as their name, username, email address, and the comment itself.
