2 May 2017 – As Palestinian prisoners enter day 16 of their mass hunger strike, Israeli authorities are said to be obstructing negotiations and severely impeding communication from the strikers to the outside world. As many as 1,600 Palestinians are refusing food in protest of ill treatment by Israeli prison authorities, including medical neglect and reduction of family visits.

Brazil Cancels $2 Billion Contract with Israeli Security Firm for 2016 Olympics

12 May 2015 – Brazil’s government has excluded an Israeli “security” company from working at the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro following a campaign by Palestine solidarity activists who are now turning their focus to the Olympics Committee, which has named ISDS as an “official supplier” for the games.

Last week Monsanto announced staggering profits while American farmers filed into Washington, DC to challenge the Biotech giant’s right to sue farmers whose fields have become contaminated with Monsanto’s seeds. Monsanto’s earnings nearly doubled analysts’ projections and its total revenue reached $2.94bn at the end of 2012.

When Europe Develops, and Israel Destroys

The European Commission has released a document that lists projects it funded that were destroyed or damaged by the Israel Defence Forces between May 2001 and October 2011. The list documents 82 such instances, amounting to a monetary loss of 49.2 million euro, 30 million of which came directly from European aid. British Member of the European Parliament, Chris Davies, released the list following his inquiry, “the most detailed response I have ever received from the European Commission.”
