1 Sep 2016 — The 2016 World Conservation Congress convenes in Honolulu, Hawaii this week raising awareness about the use of gene drives — a new synthetic biology technology to cause species to become extinct. Environmental leaders including Jane Goodall, David Suzuki, Fritjof Capra, Angelika Hilbeck, Vandana Shiva, Nell Newman have signed the open letter: “A Call for Conservation with a Conscience: No Place for Gene Drives in Conservation.” Please do it too.
