A Man and His Money

JOKE OF THE WEEK, 18 Feb 2013

There was a man who had worked all of his life and had saved all of his money. He was a real miser and loved money more than anything else. He was dying and said to his wife,

“When I die, I want you to put all my money in the coffin with me. I want to take it to the afterlife.”

He made her promise ans swear it.

He died, was placed in the casket. His wife was sitting there in black with her girlfriend sitting next to her.

When they finished the ceremony, just before the undertakers got ready to close the casket, she said, “Wait a minute!” She had a box, walked over and put it in the casket right before the final curtain.

Then the undertakers locked the coffin and rolled it away. Her girlfriend was startled: “Girl, I know you weren’t fool enough to put all that money in there with your dead husband!”

She said, “Listen, I believe in God. I can’t go back on my word. I promised him that I was gonna put the money in the casket with him.”

“You mean to tell me you really put his money in the coffin!?

“I sure did,” said the wife. “I wrote him a check.”
