A famous surgeon told his students,

“To be a good surgeon you need two qualities: you must be able to overcome disgust, and have keen observation.” Then he put a finger into a disgusting fluid and licked his finger. He challenged his students to do the same.

All showed great self-control and did the same without making any grimace. Then the surgeon said,

“Congratulations, you passed the first test, but you failed the second. You did not notice that I licked a different finger from the one I put in the fluid.”
