Correction

JOKE OF THE WEEK, 30 Jul 2018

Dietrich Fischer – TRANSCEND Media Service

General Smith died and the local newspaper printed a eulogy.

But instead of writing, “He was a battle-scarred veteran,” a misprint turned into “a battle-scared veteran.”

His widow was devastated and demanded that the newspaper print a correction. They agreed, and wrote in the next edition:

“We apologize that due to a misprint we called General Smith a battle-scared veteran.  It should have read, He was a bottle-scarred veteran.”
