Poem Inspired by a Painting

Transformed into a warrior
Armed with my weapon
Take me to your leader now!
I am not going back to the plough…
Blood oozes from my pores
I will kill him…
I have taken a vow
Transformed into a warrior
My fear won’t bow.
No it won’t!

No more  gathering tea.
It’s war for my child and me.
I demand vengeance .
Who shall it be?

War is never the solution
Only leads to execution.
Chaos and bloodshed…
Only leads to deprivation.

Transform into a forgiver
You feel the revenge
You feel the torment, the torture
It makes your body quiver
Let it flow into the river.
Be transformed…

Very inspiring poetry indeed, where the scars of revenge are transformed into forgiveness for a better world tomorrow.

    Very well articulated Dr.usha Roopnarain.
