One Response to “Oliver Stone: They Always Kill the Socrates”

Much thanks to Transcend Media Service for posting this interview with one of the greatest Artists of our time, Oliver Stone!

I met Mr. Stone a few years ago, and we spoke briefly. I told him he had been a hero of mine since I had seen his early movies, “Born on the Fourth of July” and “Platoon.”

I’m very glad to see him at this gathering in Russia! I am impressed not only with the great director, but with the Russian audience. It’s mostly a younger group, but everyone is well-groomed and well-informed. There was not one foolish question; not one person trying to push an antithetical viewpoint. The audience was there to learn. They wanted to know how a man who had been drafted into the Vietnam War as a “private,” had come to learn so much in life, had developed his principles for peace and humanity and was able to convey those principles in his wonderful work….

What can we learn from Oliver Stone now… as our world seems splintered and splintering again?

    Thank you!

    Gary Corseri
