Flash Mob for Gaza – From Milan to Berlin

4 Aug 2025 – Several flash mobs have been held in Milan to denounce the genocide in Palestine, but one in particular has not only been repeated many times but has also been held by citizens in other Italian cities.

The organizers were very pleased, but you can imagine how moved they were when, a few days ago, they received this email and this video from Germany via Pressenza.

Dear Andrea de Lotto,

I’ve been wanting to write to you for a long time about the flash mob in Berlin. Last year, you wrote about the flash mob in Milan on the Pressenza website. You also shared photos and a video.

I immediately thought I wanted to do it too. Last year, I attended a vigil for Julian Assange, who was later released.

Some activists and I thought about what we could do with the free time we now had. I told them about the flash mob in Milan, and everyone immediately agreed to fight for world peace in Berlin, too.

However, we didn’t organize a spontaneous flash mob; instead, we met in front of the Brandenburg Gate for two hours every Sunday since November 2024 and held this flash mob. There were only three of us, but now there are many more of us, and people often join in spontaneously.

For a month now, we’ve also been reading lines from Wolfgang Borchert’s poem “Say No.”

If you meet other people from the Milan flash mob, please tell them about us and that their action was a model.

I’m now sending you a video of our flash mob from last Sunday:
