One Response to “Discrimination”

  1. Gary Steven Corseri says:

It’s not funny…. But, it is a pretty good meme for getting at the heart/essence of many of our present problems–as individuals and as members of modern American society. On the one hand we’re inculcated from childhood that “we the people” are “endowed” with “inalienable rights”–life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. And then, like babes in the woods, we’re let go, left wandering in the forest of ideas and countervailing claims on our time and energy, but given the assurance that we have the right to “alter or abolish” an intrusive government! Huh? The noise of our mass media and social media is clashing cymbals in our brains and our educational system barely manages to get us through the weeds in the forest. Wondering who we are, we lose ourselves in “individualism,” losing touch with family and community, greater values and higher selves.
