22 Feb 2023 – Cyclone Freddy is approaching Mozambique and may affect South Africa.

The fear of the storm
Intense circular, it’s a cyclone
It’s fast approaching
Its path unknown
Can anyone fathom it?
The fear… of being left alone!
The cyclone has an eye
It surges, it seeks

Does it care?
That people will die.
The powerful presidents as it approaches
They are safe.
Spiraling, sweeping, surging.
What about the homeless?
The helpless?
Who can stop it?

It’s going to be a time of weeping.
Go back to your oval offices.
Lay safe…
The poor, the vulnerable
The cyclone comes with intensity
And increasing propensity
To cause colossal damage.

Like brain waves
Causing fear in so many ways
Wreaking havoc
Circling and spiraling
Unfolding stormy displays
Reminding us to change
From our wicked ways.
