garykohls“The streets of our country are in turmoil! The universities are filled with students rebelling and rioting! Communists are seeking to destroy our country! Russia is threatening us with her might! Our republic is in danger, yes, danger from within and without! WE NEED LAW AND ORDER!” — Original quote from Adolf Hitler (essentially indistinguishable from the rhetoric of Ronald Reagan and Donald Trump).

“I love the under-educated.” – Donald Trump

“What Christians have got to do is take back this country, one precinct at a time, one neighborhood at a time and one state at a time. I honestly believe that in my lifetime, we will see a country once again governed by Christians…and Christian values.” “I want to be invisible. I do guerilla warfare. I paint my face and travel at night. You don’t know it’s over until you’re in a body bag. You don’t know until election night.”Ralph Reed (Radical Christian Fundamentalist and executive director of the Christian Coalition – 1987-1989)

“Donald Trump is bad for America, but he is good for CBS.”Leslie Roy Moonves, President of CBS

donald trump make america great again

Donald Trump’s campaign to gain the presidency has centered around the lame slogan on his China-manufactured campaign cap, “Make America Great Again”. Ronald Reagan also promised to do that too and his acolyte George W. Bush, thanks to his and the NeoCon Dick Cheney’s  meddling in foreign affairs (of which he knew as little as Trump does) left America in smoldering ruins with his stupid – and illegal – war in Afghanistan and Iraq and the Cheney/Bush stock market crash of 2007-2008.

Trump has never admitted publicly how stupid he was when he led the so-called “birther movement” conspiracy theory (that claimed that Barack Obama was born in Kenya). And, according to Joseph Goebbels’ “Big Lie” premise (see below), many of Trump’s beloved “poorly-educated” activists still believe it.reagan bush lets make america great again

To date, the perennially unapologetic Trump (who meets the definitions of egomaniac, blowhard, megalomaniac, narcissist and sociopath) has not apologized to President Obama for perpetrating that falsehood. (Incidentally, many of the under-educated Trump activists are victims of a serious lack of scientific and historical knowledge – for no fault of their own – but they don’t seem to care. What they seem to care about is giving the finger to the well-educated, scientists, scholars, educators, historians and conscientious diplomats. Many of them are single issue voters that have been thoroughly indoctrinated by the NRA, the white supremacy movement and/or the anti-Roe v. Wade groups.)

Now Trump claims that he wants to be the “Make America Work” President. And, thanks partly to the gullibility of his beloved “poorly educated” voters, Trump also falsely blames the current occupant of the White House and Hillary Clinton for the decades-long loss of manufacturing plants and factory jobs overseas (rather than correctly blaming the real culprits – greedy multinational corporations searching for slave-wage workers anywhere on the planet).

hitler make germany great again

For both political conventions over the next weeks, one can expect to hear very little about the nefarious actions of the very blameworthy banks, Wall Street firms and assorted multinational corporations that are in charge of politics, commerce, the military, the media, legislation, and above all, profits for their shareholders, America be damned.

Below is the Republican National Convention (and Trump coronation) agenda for the week, that has already erupted in chaos on the floor when the Trump-bullied Rules committee refused to listen to the large minority of GOP delegates who were denied a simple, traditional roll call vote on voting procedures. After they were thoroughly humiliated, the entire Colorado delegation – and others as well – walked out in disgust. One of the Colorado delegates said “Trump is a tyrannical dictator”, and one of the Alabama delegates said “Trump is a bully.”

Below is a list of the Daily Themes & So-called “Headliners”. Note the absence of most of the GOP heavy-weights who could have been the “adults in the room” for the convention.  These missing bigwigs in GOP politics have more often than not been obstructionists and therefore often been bad for American democracy, are staying home for the first time in the recent history of the Republican National Convention. Many of them have been the victim of ridicule and thoughtless, off-the-cuff – and very unprofessional – ad hominem attacks from Trump. Many of these GOP leaders have been called “losers”. And therefore, Republican lightweights are dominating the prime time agendas.

Monday: Make America Safe Again
Prime Time Headliners: Melania Trump, Lieutenant General (ret.) Michael Flynn, U.S. Senator Joni Ernst (R-Iowa), Jason Beardsley and U.S. Rep. Ryan Zinke (Mont.).

Tuesday: Make America Work Again
Prime Time Headliners: Donald Trump, Jr., U.S. Sen. Shelley Moore Capito (WV), Ben Carson and Kimberlin Brown.

Wednesday: Make America First Again
Prime Time Headliners: Lynne Patton; Eric Trump; former Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives Newt Gingrich and his third wife, Callista; and Indiana Governor Mike Pence

Thursday: Make America One Again
Prime Time Headliners: Peter Thiel, Tom Barrack, Ivanka Trump and Donald Trump

The only recognizable person reading from the Prime Time teleprompter on the first day of the GOP Convention was the gorgeous 46 year-old Slovenian ex-model Melania Trump. Parts of her rather liberal speech were obviously taken verbatim from Michelle Obama’s Democratic National Convention speech from 2008. But since the speech had to have been ghost-written, she shouldn’t be accused of plagiarism. Ironically – and contrary to the Donald’s campaign theme – Mrs Trump repeatedly professed that America is already a great nation.

Of course, Donald Trump, following his new partnership with the RNC establishment, has suddenly announced that he wants to be the Law and Order President, which is exactly what Ronald Reagan’s campaign professed. I suppose plagiarism runs in some families.

At any rate, to help us all comprehend the propaganda eruptions that will be happening over the next week or so, I submit for our consideration some quotes from several of history’s authoritarian mis-leaders.

********************

“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.” — Joseph Goebbels, German Nazi and Minister of Propaganda and Public Enlightenment

“The individual is handicapped by coming face to face with a conspiracy so monstrous he cannot believe it exists.” — J. Edgar Hoover, former head of the FBI and probable co-conspirator in the JFK assassination, as well as other acts of extra-legal violence.

“…and thus in the primitive simplicity of their minds they more readily fall victims to the Big Lie than the small lie, since they themselves often tell small lies in little matters but would be ashamed to resort to large-scale falsehoods. It would never come into their heads to fabricate colossal untruths, and they would not believe that others could have the impudence to distort the truth so infamously. Even though the facts which prove this to be so may be brought clearly to their minds, they will still doubt and waver and will continue to think that there may be some other explanation.” — Adolf Hitler, Mein Kampf

“I love the under-educated.” – Donald Trump

“We’ll know that our disinformation campaign has worked when everything the American public believes is false.” – William Casey, Ronald Reagan’s newly-appointed CIA Director at his first staff meeting, 1981

“The international community can say this, can say that. I don’t care at all. Everyone will see how powerful the Republic of Turkey is.” Megalomaniacal rhetoric from far right-wing “Law and Order” Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan who is notorious for imprisoning journalists and sees himself as absolute monarch.

“It also gives us a very special, secret pleasure to see how unaware the people around us are of what is really happening to them.”  — Adolf Hitler

“The illegal we do immediately. The unconstitutional takes a little longer.”– Henry Kissinger, as reported in the October 28, 1973 New York Times

“What good fortune for those in power that the people do not think.”  — Adolf Hitler

“The point is, you can never be too greedy.” – Donald Trump

“An evil exists that threatens every man, woman, and child of this great nation. We must take steps to ensure our domestic security and protect our homeland.” — Adolf Hitler, proposing the creation of the Gestapo, his homeland security group.

“Nobody would be tougher on ISIS than Donald Trump. Nobody. I will find — within our military – I will find the General Patton, or I will find General MacArthur. I will find the right guy. I will find the guy that’s going to take that military and make it really work. Nobody, nobody will be pushing us around.” – Donald Trump

“Through clever and constant application of propaganda people can be made to see paradise as hell, and also the other way around, to consider the most wretched sort of life as paradise.”  — Adolf Hitler, Mein Kampf, 1923

“You know, it really doesn’t matter what the media write as long as you’ve got a young, and beautiful, piece of ass.” – Donald Trump

“Democracy is beautiful in theory; in practice it is a fallacy. You in America will see that someday.” – Benito Mussolini, Italian fascist dictator

“It is humiliating to remain with our hands folded while others write history. It matters little who wins. To make a people great it is necessary to send them to battle even if you have to kick them in the pants. That is what I shall do.” Mussolini

“I’m a free-trader. But the problem with free trade is you need really talented people to negotiate for you… Free trade can be wonderful if you have smart people, but we have people that are stupid. We have people that aren’t smart. And we have people that are controlled by special interests. And it’s just not going to work.” – Donald Trump

“I would like to thank Providence and the Almighty for choosing me of all people to be allowed to wage this battle for Germany.” Hitler – Berlin March, 1936

“I believe that God wants me to be president.” George W. Bush

“Never in these long years have we offered any other prayer but this: ‘Lord, grant to our people peace at home, and grant and preserve to them peace from the foreign foe!’” Hitler – Nuremberg Sept. 13, 1936

“I go to church on Sunday when I can and always on Christmas, Easter, and on special occasions.” – Donald Trump, a professed Presbyterian, who embarrassingly said at a Liberty College rally, that “TWO Corinthians 3:17” (rather than SECOND Corinthians, which anyone who goes to church regularly knows) was a favorite passage. The other of his favorite passages from the bible was the Hebrew bible’s “Eye for an Eye” quote which Jesus specifically repudiated for his followers.

“Today Christians stand at the head of our country.  We want to fill our culture again with the Christian spirit.  We want to burn out all the recent immoral developments in literature, in the theatre, and in the press – in short, we want to burn out the poison of immorality which has entered into our whole life and culture as a result of liberal excess during the past years.” — Adolph Hitler

“War alone brings up to their highest tension all human energies and imposes the stamp of nobility upon the peoples who have the courage to make it.” – Mussolini

“I will be the greatest jobs president that God ever created. I tell you that. I’ll bring back our jobs from China, from Mexico, from Japan, from so many places. I’ll bring back our jobs, and I’ll bring back our money.” — Donald Trump

“Socialism is a fraud, a comedy, a phantom, a blackmail.” – Mussolini

“I will build a great wall – and nobody builds walls better than me, believe me – and I’ll build them very inexpensively. I will build a great, great wall on our southern border, and I will make Mexico pay for that wall. Mark my words.” – Donald Trump

“I can hire one half of the working class to kill the other half.” – Jay Gould, one of the richest capitalists in America (a railroad robber baron), as he hired strikebreakers (including armed Pinkerton detectives) to defeat a Texas railroad union strike over fairer wages, shorter hours and unsafe working conditions.

“Thanks be to God that on this day we have sent six hundred heathen souls to hell.” – Reverend Increase Mather, one of the first American Pro-violence, Radical Christian Fundamentalist preachers after the Puritans massacred an entire settlement of native Americans (including women and children)

“Fascism should more appropriately be called Corporatism because it is a merger of state and corporate power” ― Benito Mussolini

“When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending the best. They’re not sending you, they’re sending people that have lots of problems and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists… And some, I assume, are good people.” – Donald Trump

“The fascist state must not forget that all means must serve the ends; it must not let itself be confused by the drivel about so-called ‘freedom of the press’…it must make sure that (the media) is placed in the service of the state.” — Adolf Hitler, Mein Kampf

“Today Christians stand at the head of our country.  We want to fill our culture again with the Christian spirit.  We want to burn out all the recent immoral developments in literature, in the theatre, and in the press — in short, we want to burn out the poison of immorality which has entered into our whole life and culture as a result of liberal excess during the past years.” — Adolph Hitler

“Eminent domain for massive projects, for instance, if you’re gonna create thousands of jobs, and you have somebody that’s in the way, and you need a house in a certain location…because you’re going to build this massive development and going to employ thousands of people…that without this little house you can’t build the factory, I think eminent domain is fine.” – Donald Trump

“We stand for the maintenance of private property … We shall protect free enterprise as the most expedient, or rather the sole possible economic order.” — Adolf Hitler
