A pole goes to a bank with 100 zlotys and asks, “What is the safest thing to do with my money?”  “Deposit it in a bank,” the teller says.  “But what if the bank goes bankrupt?”  “Then the ministry of finance guarantees your money.”  “But what if the ministry of finance goes bankrupt?”  “Then the Polish government guarantees your money.”   “But what if the Polish government goes bankrupt?”  “Then the friendly Soviet Union guarantees your money.”  “But what if the Soviet Union collapses?”  “You don’t mean to say that you would feel sorry to lose 100 zlotys for that!”
