México DF, 22 Mar 2012 – Los antitaurinos ganamos otra batalla en México.

En esta Comisión compareció la delegada de LIBERA! México entre otros activistas del DF, así como representantes del sector taurino.

Desde Fundación Franz Weber, organización internacional de defensa animal que participa activamente en la Plataforma META, México Ético en el Trato a los Animales, formada por personalidades públicas, activistas animalistas y políticos mexicanos, tenemos el placer de informaros de que hace apenas unos minutos, la Comisión de Administración Pública del Distrito Federal (México) acaba de aprobar la iniciativa para abolir las corridas de toros, ciudad donde se encuentra la plaza más grande del mundo.

En un ambiente de festejo y emoción los activistas defensores de los animales anunciamos que el último paso hacia la abolición se dará en pocos meses y demostramos absoluta confianza en que se acabará con lo que consideramos una cruel y anacrónica tradición.

“Éste era el paso más difícil y ya lo hemos sorteado” manifiesta Gustavo Larios, Coordinador General de la Plataforma META y Presidente de la organización AMEDEA. A su vez expresa sus felicitaciones a los Diputados que apoyaron “la única decisión posible en una dirección de profeso social y moral”.

Se estima que antes de mitad de año las corridas de toros en México pasarían a ser ilegales.
