Um total de 10 aborígenes australianos entre 25 e 53 anos concluíram seus estudos básicos de leitura e escrita através do método cubano de alfabetização“Yo sí puedo” “Sim, eu posso”, confirmou hoje [6 Julho 2012] José Chala, coordenador do programa nesta nação.

O especialista do Instituto Pedagógico Latino-americano e Caribenho de Cuba, especificou que um segundo grupo de 11 indígenas de 15 a 61 anos terminará o plano de alfabetização na cidade de Wilcannia, a 965 quilômetros ao noroeste de Sydney.

“Eu, sim posso” possibilita que aborígenes australianos aprendam a ler e a escrever em um período de três meses e lhes fornece as ferramentas necessárias para manejar as tecnologias, melhorar a capacidade de expressão, e conservar sua cultura, indicou.

Segundo informes de imprensa, Wilcannia, onde 60 por cento de sua população -de uns 700 habitantes- é pobre e carece de fontes de trabalho, registra altos parâmetros de analfabetismo, violência doméstica e alcoolismo.

A metodologia cubana, que recebeu o Prêmio Alfabetização 2006 Rei Sejong, da Organização das Nações Unidas para a Educação, a Ciência e a Cultura, foi aplicada em 28 países e beneficiou mais de seis milhões de pessoas em todo o mundo.

O sistema emprega a técnica denominada alfanumérica, que associa uma letra com um número, sobre a base de que a maioria dos analfabetos têm conhecimentos básicos sobre dígitos.
