Brian Terrell – Voices for Creative Nonviolence

Last April [2012], Brian Terrell was arrested for trespassing while protesting the US drone program at Whiteman Air Force Base in Missouri. He must report to a South Dakota federal prison to serve six months for the misdemeanor.

Novenber 14, 2012 – I just got word from the US Bureau of Prisons via Catholic Worker-attorney Ruth O’Neill that the institution that I am to report to by 2 PM on November 30 [2012] is the prison camp at Yankton, South Dakota. Yankton is one of the closest federal prisons to our home in Iowa and home to Emmaus CW House, a Benedictine Monastery and many good friends. My address from November 30 until the end of May, 2013, will be:

P.O. BOX 700

Letters are welcome, but I may be limited in out-going mail. Paperback books and magazines may be sent with the notation “CONTENTS—AUTHORIZED PUBLICATIONS” on the package. Hard cover books must come from a publisher or business like Amazon.

Pray for me! Commissary donations are welcome. Please send checks to Betsy at Strangers and Guests CW Farm, 108 Hillcrest Drive, Maloy, Iowa 50836.

Brian lives and works at Strangers and Guests Farm in Maloy, Iowa. Brian and his partner, Betsy Keenan, raise most of what they need from their gardens, chickens and small herd of goats. From this little farm, Brian travels around Iowa and beyond, speaking and acting with various communities that are working for peace. He is a long time peace activist and a co-coordinator of Voices for Creative Nonviolence. He recently participated in a December 2010 delegation to Afghanistan.
