(Português) Cuba Tem a Menor Taxa de Mortalidade Infantil nas Américas

Após 54 anos de revolução e quase 53 de embargo, o índice cubano é melhor que o de países como os Estados Unidos, Canadá e Brasil.

A qualidade de vida dos cubanos é, com frequência, questionada pelos críticos da revolução. Muito se fala sobre a falta de liberdade, o racionamento e questões econômicas. Entretanto, pouco comentam sobre os avanços conquistados, como o sistema de educação e saúde, que sempre foram prioridades para o governo e referência para outros países.

As estatísticas são representativas. As duas tabelas abaixo, divulgadas pelo consulado cubano em São Paulo, mostram, primeiro, a evolução da saúde desde a revolução com a diminuição da mortalidade infantil ano a ano; e também, em seguida, compara o índice com outros países das Américas. A mortalidade é uma das menores em todo continente, superando inclusive os Estados Unidos. Confira:
