A couple were going out for the evening. They were ready and all dressed up as the taxi arrived.
But as they get out, the cat jumps back inside the house. They don’t want the cat locked inside, so the woman waits in the car while her husband goes chase it out.
The wife, not wanting the driver to know that the house will be empty, tells him: “He’s just going to say goodbye to my mother.”
A few minutes later the husband gets back into the cab -“Sorry I took so long” he says, “Stupid old thing was hiding under the bed and I had to poke her with a broomstick to get her to come out!”
