On a flight from New York to Sydney, the pilot announced that they had engine trouble and would have to make an emergency landing at sea near a small uninhabited South Pacific island. The landing went fine, and the passengers could swim ashore. But they were worried that nobody would ever find them. A husband asked his wife,
“Did you pay the water bill?” “Not yet.”
“Did you pay the electricity bill?” “Not yet.”
“Did you pay for the wine we ordered?” “Not yet.”
“Did you pay our taxes?” “Not yet.”
“Then don’t worry. The IRS will certainly find us!”
