A politician was campaigning for reelection and visited all kinds of people, trying to be folksy. To a monk, he asked, “Was your father also a monk?” The monk looked at him flabbergasted. Before he could say anything, the candidate corrected himself, “How stupid of me. Of course, monks don’t have fathers.”
