A Destination, Unknown

The clouds rain
Without selfish motives,
Be it an ocean
Or a green land
Be it a fertile
Or a barren land
Be it an even
Or an uneven place
Be it a valley
Or a mountain range,
Flowing from higher
To the lower lands
The rain waters
Ultimately merge
Into the sea
With harmony.

But, we humans
With selfish instinct
Have been generating
Hatred …
Instead of friendship
Conflicts ….
Instead of amity
Dissent ….
Instead of harmony
Havoc ….
Instead of progress
Poverty ….
Instead of prosperity;
Keeping aside
The humane instinct.

From such a nature
Can we build
A secure future?
The question haunts
Quite often….
Leading me
To a destination, unknown.
