Dietrich Fischer – TRANSCEND Media Service

A physicist, a chemist and a mathematician were stranded on an island after a shipwreck. They had only one can of beans left but no can opener and were very hungry.

The physicist proposed, “Let’s use a stone to smash the can.”

The chemist said, “No, let’s make a fire and put the can inside, then it will pop open from the pressure.”

The mathematician suggested, “Why don’t we simply assume we have a can opener?”
