Will Politicians and the Corporate Media Say the Truth One Day?

Alberto Portugheis – TRANSCEND Media Service

Politicians and the corporate media keep repeating the same lies, year after year, in the knowledge that most listeners or readers will believe their lies. Back in 2003, when the American Ambassador in Baghdad met on a daily basis with Saddam Hussein’s ministers to arrange all details of the confrontation, day, time, who’ll shoot the first shot, etc, government officials, diplomats and the parroting media kept “informing” us of the “progress” of the talks, of the “great diplomatic efforts” that were being made in order to avoid the armed conflict. All of this whilst mobilizing half a million soldiers, marines, pilots and transporting everything that would be needed to sustain a long war.

Three days ago, on Friday 7 October, the same hypocrisy surfaced all over again. Through the same corporate media, the world came to learn that “Eastern Aleppo will be totally destroyed within two months”. The hypocrite and fallacious reason given: “after the latest attempts to broker a ceasefire failed”.

Will the political truth ever be heard? People will then understand why, despite the fact that nobody likes or wants wars, governments manage to impose them upon us.

In fact the truth is very simple: Eastern Aleppo will be destroyed because of the “success” of the latest attempts to broker an increase of fighters, fighting vehicles, weapons, ammunition, missiles and explosives.

I shall continue my campaign for the abolition of militarism.
