A humpback whale is worth US $2 million. The size of that number terrified even Ralph Chami, the economist who appraised the value of a whale. But can we even put a figure on these giant marine mammals? A group of economists certainly thinks so, and it’s all to do with how whales can help us to fight climate change. We look in detail at how whales are contributing to saving the planet, and how we in turn need to start saving them.
