Bush realized that President Kennedy was popular because he sent a man to the moon. He thought of doing something similar and announced he would send a man to the sun.
An aide told him that the sun was very hot, not hospitable to human life.
Bush replied triumphantly,
“Don’t worry, I will send him at night!”
