Gazans walking toward the Zikim crossing. Typically, individuals stay about 200 meters away from the checkpoint, but they are still visible. Based on team observations, the crowds often number in the thousands. Palestinians wait for hours until trucks exit the checkpoint, then rush to stop them and retrieve food. Scenes of people climbing onto or surrounding trucks indicate attempts to offload supplies. This is not an organized distribution — in many cases, people fight, get hurt over the food. Zikim is located at the extreme north of the Gaza Strip, and this footage was taken approximately 200 meters south of the checkpoint.
