A MESSAGE FROM THE TMS EDITOR

COMMENTARY ARCHIVES, 7 Sep 2009

Antonio C. S. Rosa

Dear Friends, greetings.

The TRANSCEND team has just moved from Stadtschlaining-Austria to Basel-Switzerland. This is the reason that TMS has shrunk to a few articles weekly (and a backlog of unanswered emails). We are few and had to do all the physical work ourselves with the help of some kind students from the European Peace University in Schlaining, on that end. We are still settling in but the future looks bright indeed. As you may read on Prof. Galtung’s editorial, TRANSCEND Peace University is now attached to the new World Peace Academy here, accredited by the University of Basel.

I hope that in the next few weeks TMS will be back on track delivering to you on the same reliable and regular fashion our Peace Journalism Perspectives and relevant articles and papers about peace, social justice, nonviolence, mediation and related fields. We shall also upgrade the TMS website in the near future. In the meantime, I appeal to your understanding.

I take this opportunity to thank one and all for your continuous and indefatigable support for TMS. In a short time we have become a major reference for journalists, students, academics, government/NGO officials, practitioners, activists and others interested in a better future for our planet and its inhabitants.

Of course there will be means and ways to improve on our record. Please disseminate TMS among your associates. We have now 1,200 subscribers and my goal is to reach 2,000 by December/09 – again with your help and assistance.

Best regards from the TR team; please wish us luck.
In solidarity,
Antonio C.S. Rosa, TMS Editor
