El político ruso participó activamente en las revoluciones de 1848 en París y Alemania.

1 julio 2016 – El 1° de julio de 1876 murió el político ruso Mijaíl Bakunin. Fue autor de una voluminosa obra entre las que destacaron El llamamiento a los eslavos, El catecismo revolucionario y El Estado y la anarquía.

Bakunin cursó estudios en la academia militar de San Petersburgo, pero en 1835 abandonó el Ejército y se interesó por la filosofía, especialmente por la obra de los alemanes Johann Fichte y Georg Friedrich Hegel.

A partir de 1840 viajó por el occidente europeo y conoció la obra del filósofo materialista alemán Ludwig Feuerbach, la del pensador socialista francés Charles Fourier y la del también francés Pierre Joseph Proudhon.

Participó activamente en las revoluciones de 1848 en París y Alemania. Un año después fue detenido en Dresde y condenado a muerte, pero le levantaron la pena y lo entregaron a los rusos. Permaneció encarcelado varios años y luego lo enviaron a Siberia en 1855. Una vez en ese lugar, escapó y arribó a Inglaterra en 1861. Sus últimos años los pasó en Suiza en medio la miseria y planeando conspiraciones.
