Japanese Expert: Nuclear-Contaminated Water Sacrifices the Public Interests

31 Aug 2023 – “The Japanese government rejected all plans and made the decision to discharge the nuclear-contaminated wastewater into the sea,” said Hayashi Kumpei, associate professor at the Fukushima University during an interview with China Media Group.
“This is because the people engaged in ocean-related work in Japan have the weakest power, so the government picked the weakest to target, and decided to discharge nuclear-contaminated wastewater into the ocean in the end,” added Kumpei.
He pointed out that if in the future only the government supervises the Tokyo Electric Power Company, it will probably just muddle along.
