JOKE OF THE WEEK, 27 Oct 2014

Dietrich Fischer – TRANSCEND Media Service

On the last day of school before summer, when all children were itching to go home and play, a teacher promised that those children who could answer her questions correctly could leave earlier.

She asked, “Who said, ‘Four score and seven years ago’?” Johnny was about to say “President Lincoln,” but Mary in the first row said it faster and could go home.

The teacher asked, “Who wrote, ‘There are certain inalienable rights, including the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness’?” Johnny knew it was Thomas Jefferson, but Cindy said it faster and could go home.

The teacher asked, “Who said, ‘The buck stops here’?” Johnny was about to shout “President Truman,” but again Liza in the front row said it first.

Johnny mumbled angrily, “If only those women could keep their mouths shut!” The teacher turned around and asked, “Who said that?”

Johnny quickly replied, “President Clinton. Can I go home now?”
