Myanmar’s persecution of Rohingyas

This upcoming conference will discuss one of the world’s ongoing humanitarian crises experiences by Rohingya people of Myanmar, explore possibilities and initiatives for international accountability, and offer policy recommendations. Concretely, it is entitled “Substance viable solutions, for instance, Rohingya’s protected return to protected homeland” in their ancestral region of western Myanmar. “Dr Shirin Ebadi, the Iranian human rights activist, legal scholar and practitioner and a Nobel Peace laureate, Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury, MP, Speaker of the National Parliament, Bangladesh (tbc), Razia Sultana, a Rohingya researcher and rights campaigner at the UN Security Council New York in April on Myanmar military ‘ s regular ‘mass rape’ of girls and women, and The Rt. Honorable Danielle Obono, Chair of the France-Bangladesh Friendship Group, Assemblée Nationale, France. The one-day conference will be Facebook and Tweet-ed LIVE, with simultaneous translations in English and French.

Cette prochaine conférence traitera de l’une des crises humanitaires en cours dans le monde que vivent les Rohingyas du Myanmar. Elle explorera les possibilités et les initiatives pour une responsabilité internationale et proposera des recommandations politiques pour mettre fin à la persécution des Rohingyas par le Myanmar.

Elle se déroulera à l’Assemblée nationale toute la journée du 1er juin avec un programme riche. Les différents panels discuteront notamment des solutions potentiellement viables, par exemple, pour le «retour protégé à la patrie protégée» des Rohingyas dans leur région ancestrale de l’ouest du Myanmar.

La députée Danièle Obono, présidente du groupe d’amitié France-Bangladesh à l’honneur d’accueillir, entre autres :

  • Shirin Ebadi, militante iranienne des droits de l’homme, juriste et praticienne , lauréate du prix Nobel de la paix.
  • Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury, présidente du Parlement national du Bangladesh,
  • Razia Sultana, chercheuse et militante pour les droits des Rohingyas, qui a notamment pris la parole au Conseil de sécurité de l’ONU à New York en avril dernier au sujet du «viol collectif» systématique de l’armée du Myanmar.

    • According to Maung Zarni, attendance authorizations are closed already. But if you happen to have a Press ID or credential you will be allowed.
