Jim Albertini | Malu ‘Aina Center for Non-violent Education & Action – TRANSCEND Media Service, 19 Sep 2016

Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr., the apostle of non-violence, was assassinated in Memphis, Tennessee on April 4, 1968. Few people remember him for his work for economic justice and an end to the U.S. war in Vietnam. Very few people realize that a jury in the wrongful death suit brought by the King family found that Dr. King’s death was “an act of State.”→ read full article

Overwhelming public opinion and people-power protest action, both in the U.S. and around the world, against a U.S. attack on Syria, including an appeal by the Pope, and a diplomatic proposal from the Russians all helped to call off the planned illegal U.S. military attack on Syria in the 11th hour.→ read full article
Hiroshima, Fukushima, and the Global Crisis of Violence: Where Do We Go from Here?
Jim Albertini – TRANSCEND Media Service, 12 Aug 2013
There are now 9 countries with nuclear weapons –the U.S., Russia, Great Britain, France, China, India, Pakistan, Israel, and North Korea. Add to this the violence of climate change, the plundering of the earth resources, and even the genetic modification of our very food supply. All for what? Ever increasing short-term profits? Ever increasing consumption, energy demands? Addictions eventually kill. And greed and our addiction to war may prove to be the worst addictions of all.→ read full article
Another Day, More People Drone-Bombed
Jim Albertini – TRANSCEND Media Service, 11 Jun 2012
We now know that, after our leaders decide who should be killed from photos and flimsy evidence, they then follow up by bombing the funerals of those they’ve killed, assuming that whoever shows up for the funeral must also be a terrorist. How low can the U.S. Go? It is unlikely that, from the most powerful nation on earth, the leaders will ever be hauled off to the International Court of Justice for trials, and so we have a world in which the hatreds are compounded daily.→ read full article
‘The People Don’t Want War’
Jim Albertini, Center for Nonviolent Education and Action – TRANSCEND Media Service, 6 Jun 2011
Truth From An Unexpected Source – ”Why of course the people don’t want war. But after all, it is the leaders of the country who determine the policy. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.” – Herman Goering, Nazi Germany→ read full article

Jim Albertini, from Hawaii, 11 Sep 2009
